Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Dansby Swanson went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored against the Giants on Tuesday. That’s something. Swanson had been struggling since the Braves moved him into the second spot in the order, hitting .200/.214/.350 in 10 games. Really, though, he was struggling for a couple of weeks even before the switch, and it just doesn’t make a ton of sense that he’s continued to hit second, though it seems like a good thing for his fantasy value.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Joe Panik delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Giants a 4-3 win over the Braves on Tuesday. It was the fourth time Panik reached base in the game; he had a single and two walks leading up to the game-winner. Panik is batting .324 with an 11/13 K/BB ratio in his last 19 games, raising his overall average from .183 to .254. Still, with no real power or speed here, there isn’t much reason to use him in mixed leagues.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves have won seven of their last 10 games when facing a right-handed starter.
San Francisco
The Giants are just 8-22 in their last 30 games when playing the third game of a series.
Prediction:
I like the Braves to bounce back from last night. They’re 4-1 in their last five games versus the Giants despite losing last night and are 4-1 in their last five games played in San Francisco. They’ve won five of Fried’s last six starts coming off four days of rest and are 8-3 in their last 11 games overall as well. On the other side, the Giants have lost 16 of Samardzija’s last 23 starts and are just 1-8 in his last nine outings against opponents from the National League East.
The Pick: Atlanta Braves -156
