According to online sportsbook Bodog.com the odds of an American to win this year’s tournament are -138 while the odds of the winner being European are +162 and the odds for the rest of the world at +400. in its history the Masters has been won by an American 56 times, while it has been won by a European 15 times and other countries have claimed three titles.
While the Americans have the most representation, the Europeans have had a surge in the world rankings as 6 of the top 10 spots, including the top two, belong to European golfers. America’s best bet seems to be Phil Mickelson, but until last week, Lefty was struggling with his game.
The over/under odds for the winning score has been set at 276.5 strokes. The winning score has been lower than 276 the last two years, but was over that the previous three. Tiger Woods holds the all-time record for scoring with a 270, which was 12 shots better than second that year. Woods and Mickelson are the only golfers to shoot below a 275 since 1996.
