TOUR Championship Predictions
The FedEx Cup Playoffs wrap up this weekend with the TOUR Championship, which gets started on Thursday. Here are the golfers we like to contend for the victory.
The TOUR Championship features the top 30 players in the current FedEx Cup standings and is the fourth of four playoff events. According to the latest oddsmakers, Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson are co-favorites to win, as each has 8/1 odds. Other short odds to prevail are Rory McIlroy (9/1) and Justin Thomas (11/1). The TOUR Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
63001 Justin Rose 8/1
Rose has climbed up to No. 1 in the world rankings following his runner-up finish in the last two playoff events. This year, Rose has finished second in three events and has one victory as well. Rose has a total of 10 top-10 finishes in 2018. He also landed 10th in this event a year ago. Given that Rose just got to the top of the world rankings, I would expect him to play well this week to defend his new ranking.
63003 Rory McIlroy 9/1
McIlroy is a four-time playoff event winner and he won this event in 2016. This year, McIlroy has one win and nine top-10 finishes. He has been playing pretty well as of late, finishing in the top 5 in three of his last five tournaments. That includes a fifth-place finish last week at the BMW Championship. McIlroy seems to play well in playoff events and I would expect him to be right near the top this weekend.
63008 Bryson DeChambeau 18/1
DeChambeau has a chance to claim the FedEx Cup this weekend and I think he will want to do it by making a statement. He won the first two playoff events and was 19th in last week’s tournament. This year, DeChambeau has picked up three wins and eight top-10 finishes. He seems like he is ready to take the next step in his pro career and he can make it this weekend. I like him to push for another win.
