Spieth dominates PGA opener
After dominating the first PGA Tour event of 2016, is Jordan Spieth on his way to more major championships?
Spieth looked like he didn’t miss a beat from his 2015 season, where he won two major championships, by winning the Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Sunday by eight strokes. Spieth posted a -30 score for the tournament, besting Patrick Reed, who came in second place. Spieth shot a 66-64-65-67 for the tournament and had only two bogeys throughout the 72 holes.
According to oddsmkers from RealBets, Spieth is currently listed with odds of +150 to win one major in 2016 and odds of -130 to win none. His odds to win two majors is at +600, three majors is listed at +2500 and his odds to win the grand slam is set at +10000. Spieth is also the current Masters favorite with +550 odds to repeat.
Spieth is No. 1 in the world rankings by a nice margin following this win. He had five wins last year and now has finished seventh or better in his last five tournaments, including two victories. Spieth won the first two majors of the 2015 season, finished fourth in the British Open and second in the PGA Championship.
