Mayweather decisively beats Maidana

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Floyd Mayweather Jr. picked up another win over Marcos Maidana on Saturday, but did it more convincingly this time.

Saturday’s fight took place from the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight had the WBC, WBA and The Ring Welterweight championships on the line, along with the WBC Light Middleweight title.

Mayweather Jr. (47-0) controlled the fight from the start, using his technique and speed to out-work Maidana in most round. He landed nearly half of his punches, hitting Maidana with 166 in the 12 rounds. Maidana lost a point in the 10th round for a shove and was even accused of biting Mayweather by his opponent. In the end, Mayweather earned a unanimous decision of 115-112, 116-111 and 116-111.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather Jr. was the favorite to win this bout, as he had a money line of -800 to win, which means a wager of $800 on Mayweather to win will pay out an additional $100.
