The Miami Hurricanes take on the Pittsburgh Panthers tonight at Heinz Field and bettors may want to take a long look at the under. It’s my free pick for tonight’s game.
A pick of the under is supported by the trends. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in PITT’s last four games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. It’s also 5-1 in the Panthers’ last six games following a straight up win and 4-1 in PITT’s last five games following an ATS loss.
On the other side, the under is 7-0 in the Hurricanes’ last seven outings against Big East opponent and 4-1 in the Canes’ last five games following a bye. It’s also 10-4 in Miami’s last 14 Thursday night games and 37-16 in its last 53 non-conference outings.
As Drew Sharper wrote in his free pick of the game (he likes Miami –3 on the road), PITT will look to control this game on the ground with its outstanding rushing attack. The Panthers are going to keep the ball on the ground with Dion Lewis and keep Jacory Harris and Miami’s offense off the field.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Miami a 3-point favorite over PITT, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 49. (Although if you can pick up the under at 50, some books are offering it higher so jump on it.)
I’m going with the under 49 in this free pick.
