DALLAS, TX (The Spread) – Yahoo’s Charles Robinson is reporting that the Cowboys and Cardinals are not willing to pay the Vikings’ demands for running back Adrian Peterson.
“Dallas has not even spoken to Minnesota regarding Peterson,” Robinson writes.
The Cardinals are also unwilling to surrender its first-round pick in order to require the All-Pro running back, who reportedly wants out of Minnesota. Vikings GM Rick Spielman apparently is willing to trade Peterson for a mid-to-late second-round pick, but that’s not going to happen.
Robinson speculates that the Bucs and Jaguars are sleepers to acquire Peterson, perhaps because they own selections at the top of the second round in this weekend’s NFL draft. It’ll be interesting to see if Peterson is still a Minnesota Viking by the end of the weekend.
