Goldencents Preakness Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – After a disappointing finish at the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, Goldencents will look to bounce back at the 2013Preakness Stakes this Saturday.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Goldencents is currently 7/1 to win the Preakness Stakes. Orb is favored at 7/5, Departing is 7/2 and Itsmyluckyday at 9/1. Both Mylute and Will Take Charge are 12/1, respectively, while Vyjack is 15/1 and Governor Charlie is 20/1. Oxbow is currently 20/1 while Titletown Five is 30/1.
After winning three of his last four races entering the Kentucky Derby, Goldencents was a dud at Churchill Downs. He finished 17th after being one of the sleepers to win the race, and watched Orb claim victory and both Golden Soul (second) and Revolutionary (third) finish in the money.
But as previously mentioned, Goldencents’ race history is impressive. He won the Grade I Santa Anita Derby on April 6 and finished fourth at the Grade II San Felipe on March 9. He won the Grade III Sham Stakes on January 5 and also the Grade III Delta Downs Jackpot on November 17 of last year.
Goldencents’ trainer is Doug O’Neill and his jockey is Kevin Krigger, who is now a regular on the Southern California racing circuit. Goldencents has earned 129 points and has collected $758,000 in total earnings.
The 2013 Preakness Stakes is this Saturday at 6:24PM ET (post time) from Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland.
