Vyjack Belmont Stakes Odds
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) – Will Vyjack have a better showing in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes after a poor outing at last month’s Kentucky Derby?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Vyjack is 25/1 to win this weekend’s race at Belmont Park. Orb is the favorite at 5/2 after winning the Kentucky Derby and 2013 Preakness Stakes’ winner Oxbow is 6/1.
Continuing with the odds, Oxbow is 6/1 while Freedom Child is 17/2 and Unlimited Budget is 10/1. Palace Malice and Golden Soul are both 12/1, respectively, while Overanalyze is 14/1 and Incognito is 25/1. Frac Daddy, meanwhile, is 28/1 while Giant Finish and Midnight Taboo are both 33/1, respectively.
Vyjack finished 18th at the Kentucky Derby after running near the lead at the start. He also placed third at the Grade 1 Wood Memorial after winning four consective races from November 10 of last year through March 2 of this year. Those wins came at a Maiden Special Weight, Traskwood, the Grade 2 Jerome Handicap, and the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes.
Vyjack drew the No. 11 gate when the post positions were drawn on Wednesday, while Orb drew the No. 5 post and Revolutionary drew the No. 9 gate. Oxbow will start in the No. 7 post and Freedom Child will start of the No. 2 post.
The 2013 Belmont Stakes will take place from Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8.
