ELMONT, NY (The Spread) – The immediate challenge to Orb in this Saturday’s running of the Belmont Stakes could be Revolutionary, who has the second best odds to win.

Revolutionary has competed in three graded stakes races including the Kentucky Derby on May 4, where he finished third. He also won the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby on March 30 and the Grade 3 Withers on February 2.

The Todd Pletcher-trained colt also ran in four non-graded stakes before he ran in the Withers, placing third on September 3, second on October 28, third on November 24 and first on December 28.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Revolutionary has odds of 5/1 to win the Belmont Stakes, which are second to only Orb, who is 3/1 to win. Oxbow is 13/2, Freedom Child is 8/1 and both Palace Malice and Unlimited Budget are 10/1, respectively.

Continuing with the latest odds, Golden Soul is 12/1, Overanalyze is 14/1 and Will Take Charge is 20/1. Vyjack is 22/1, Incognito is 25/1 and Frac Daddy, Giant Finish and Midnight Taboo are all 33/1, respectively.

When the post positions were drawn on Wednesday, Revolutionary drew the No. 9 gate while Orb drew the No. 5 post. Oxbow will start seventh, Frac Daddy drew the rail and Freedom Child will start besides Frac Daddy at the No. 2 gate.

The 2013 Belmont Stakes will take place from Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8.
