According to oddsmakers, Norway is the favorite to win the gold, as they have odds of +175. Other short odds to win in this event are France (+300) and Russia (+500).
Norway is the defending Olympic champion. The 2008 gold was the country’s first in the sport. They have also won two silvers and a bronze in the past. Norway won the European title back in 2010 and the world championship in 2011.
France has never won an Olympic medal in this sport, but they finished second in the 2011 and 1009 world championship.
Russia won the silver at the 2008 Olympics and was the 2009 world champion. They also won the 2007 and 2005 world championships.
