One of the most dangerous events in each Winter Olympics is Ski Jumping, and the odds are out for which team will win this event in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The team ski jumping competition is contested on the largest of two competitive hills, where the jumping points is 125-meters from takeoff. Four competitors from each country jump. The nation with the highest cumulative score from all its combined jumps wins gold.  This event began in 1988.


Finland and

Austria
are favored with odds of 3/2 to win the gold medal in team ski jumping according to online sports book Brobury Sports. Other short odds to win are
Norway (4/1) and

Germany
(8/1).


Finland
has won this event twice since it began, as it won in 1988 and 1992.

Finland
has finished with the silver in each of the last two Olympic games. In 2002,
Finland lost by 0.1 point to

Germany
for the gold.


Austria
won the 2006 gold medal with a score of 984, the highest total in Olympic history.

Austria
didn’t medal in 2002, but the Austrians took bronze in 1998 and 1994 and silver in 1992.


Norway
finished with the bronze in 2006. It was the first time

had medaled in this event since 1988, when it also took home the bronze.

has won the gold twice in this event, winning in 2002 and 1994.
