Nordic Combo NH Odds
Combining jumping and cross-country skiing, the Men’s Nordic Combined Normal Hill event will be a true test of endurance at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
According to vancouver2010.com, in this event, the jumping portion occurs first followed by a free technique cross-country race. In the normal hill event, competitors begin with one ski jump on the normal hill, followed by a 10-kilometre cross-country ski race which usually consists of four, 2.5 kilometer laps. The first skier across the finish line is the winner.
A two-time Olympic medalist in Nordic combined, Magnus Moan, is favored to win.
Moan has odds of 9/2 to win the gold medal in this event according to online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Jason Lamy Chappuis (11/2), Hannu Manninen (11/2), and Felix Gottwald (7/1).
Moan won the silver medal in the 2006 Olympics for the 7.5km sprint and he won the bronze for the 15km individual. In 2009, he was part of the 20km relay team that took bronze.
