Men’s 4x10KM Ski Odds

The lone team event in cross country skiing for the 2010 Winter Olympics is the 4×10 kilometer relay, and the odds are out for which team will take home the gold.

In this event, four skiers from each country will compete in a relay format. Each skier goes through the same 10 kilometer track with the first two competitors racing in classic style and the last two skiers racing in freestyle format. The first team to complete the event wins the gold medal.

The defending world champions,

Norway, have emerged as the favorites to win this event.

Norway enters the Olympics with odds of 1/2 according to online sports book SPORTSBETINNG.com. Other short odds to win are
Germany (4/1), and

Sweden (5/1).

Norway won the 2009 world championships with a team of Eldar Ronning, Odd-Bjorn Hjelmeset, Tore Rouud Hofstad, and Petter Northug. Northug has been favored in each individual cross country event for this Olympics and Hjelmeset is also expected to medal individually.

Norway finished fifth in this event in the last Olympics.

Norway won the gold in both the 1998 and 2002 Olympics.

Germany won the bronze in this event in the 2006 Olympics, finishing less than 16 seconds behind winner,

Italy. The Germans were second in the 2009 world championships, 2.6 seconds behind

Norway.

Sweden won the bronze in the 2006 Olympics, finishing less than a second behind

Germany for second place.
