The 2010 World Cup has advanced to the Round of 16 and now

Brazil is the new favorite to win the championship.

16 teams now remain in the tournament, which enters elimination round. The 16 teams left are entered into a single-elimination tournament where each game must have a winner. If the two teams are tied at the end of regulation, two overtime periods are played and if the game is still tied, penalty kicks are held to determine a winner.

Brazil has been given 10/3 odds win according to the online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are
Spain (4/1),
Argentina (9/2), and

Holland (13/2).

Brazil has been a power in the World Cup, having won five titles, with the last coming in 2002. In group play,

Brazil went 2-0-1, scoring five goals and allowing two.
Brazil won Group G and will now take on

Chile on Monday at 2:30PM ET.

Spain has never won the World Cup, and their best finish in the tournament was fourth place back in 1950. In 2006, they reached the round of 16 before losing to runner-up,

France, 3-1.

Spain went 2-1-0 in group play to win Group H. Spain scored four goals in group play and allowed two. It will face

Portugal on Tuesday at 2:30PM ET.

Argentina has won two World Cups, taking the 1978 and 1986 titles. They also finished second in 1990 and 1930.

The Round of 16 tournament begins Saturday, June 26 at 10AM ET and two games will be played each day for the next four days until the field of eight is set.
