According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Johnson had 22/1 odds to win the event, meaning at $100 bet on Johnson will pay out $2,200.
Johnson struggled in his final round, shooting a 2-over 74 on Sunday, but the birdie on the 18th hole was enough to get him past David Duval and J.B. Holmes.
Duval shot a 15-under 271 for the tournament for his best finish on the PGA Tour since he tied for second in the 2009
Pre-event favorite, Phil Mickelson, shot an 11-under 275 for the tournament to finish tied for 8th.
