Barclays Round 3 Odds
As the action heads into Round 3 at the 2009 Barclays, a rookie has an outright lead, while a legend is still one of the three favorites despite being 8-strokes behind.
After shooting a 66 in Round 1 and a 68 in Round 2, rookie golfer Webb Simpson currently has the lead at Liberty National Golf Club with a total score of 134. He currently leads Americans Paul Goydos and Steve Marino by 2-strokes, while also jumping out to an 8-stroke lead over Tiger Woods.
Oddmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have updated their odds and now have Simpson as a 4.5/1 favorite, although he has company as Marino and Woods are each 4.5/1 to win. Goydos is right behind them with 7.5/1 odds.
Following those previously mentioned in terms of odds are Steve Stricker at 9/1, Ian Poulter at 12/1, and Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Fredrik Jacobson are all 15/1.
Out of that group, Jacobson seems to offer the best value since he sits 4-strokes behind Simpson, while Stricker and Poulter are both 5-strokes behind. Els is 6-strokes behind and Garcia is chasing by 9-strokes.
The 2009 Barclays continues with Round 3 Saturday morning from Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J. For complete odds on Round 3 of the event, see below.
