Alex Becker is a staff writer for TheSpread.com. He joined the site in September of 2022 and writes articles for the site every week breaking down individual matchups in college football, college basketball, the NFL, NBA, and MLB. His articles are written through a gambling lens and he makes against-the-spread picks for each game. He first began writing about sports on Blogger.com in 2010 and currently writes a weekly Substack newsletter focusing on sports. For nearly two years, Alex wrote for the NFL Mocks page of FanSided.com where he covered the NFL Draft and various prospects. Alex attended the University of Missouri’s journalism school and received a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014. He has written and published three fiction books, the latest of which was published in January 2023. Alex enjoys watching sports, reading books, going for walks, spending time with his family, and playing video games in his spare time. He currently lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin and his favorite team is the Green Bay Packers.
