Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Cody Bellinger went 1-for-4 with a game-winning infield single against Milwaukee on Wednesday. After the Brewers tied the game in the top of the eighth, Bellinger answered in the bottom of the inning, hitting a ball off the glove of reliever Joel Payamps that allowed Mike Tauchman to score the go-ahead run. The RBI was Bellinger’s 77th of the year. He’s now hitting .316 with a .897 OPS in a bounce back season that likely made him a lot of money.
Cincinnati Reds DFS SPIN
Reds claimed OF Hunter Renfroe off waivers from Angels. The Reds were very active at the waiver deadline on Thursday, also claiming Harrison Bader as they try to replace a number of injured players in their lineup. Renfroe has played 122 of his 126 games in right field this season, which would seem to be bad news for Will Benson, who has been the regular starter in right for Cincinnati of late. Of course, the Reds could also use Renfroe at DH in place of Nick Martini while the team has so many players on the IL. What happens when those players return is anybody’s guess, but Renfroe was hitting .242/.304/.434 with 19 home runs in 126 games and his power should absolutely play up in Cincinnati.

Wicks will make the second start of his major league career today after putting together a strong debut last Saturday, allowing one run on two hits in five innings of a 10-6 win over the Pirates. On the other side, Ashcraft is 7-8 with a 4.73 ERA and has posted a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings. He’s 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA during that span and most recently allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Sunday. That said, in five career starts against the Cubs, Ashcraft is 1-4 with a 10.38 ERA. Give me the Cubs.
