Giants vs. Phillies Prediction

Kyle Harrison will make his major league debut on Tuesday night when the Giants take on Taijuan Walker and the Phillies at 6:40 p.m. ET. With the Phillies listed as sizable home favorites and the total sitting at 9 runs, what’s the smart bet tonight in Philly?

San Francisco Giants DFS SPIN

Joc Pederson went 2-for-2 with a homer and a walk before being lifted from Monday’s game against the Phillies. Austin Slater pinch-hit for him in the eighth. The homer was Pederson’s first since July 28. He had been in a 10-for-55 slump since that date, lowering his OPS from .837 to .752.

Philadelphia Phillies DFS SPIN

Bryce Harper went 2-for-5 with an inside-the-park homer Monday against the Giants. The homer might have been caught at the wall if Wade Meckler had approached it better in the first place, and it still took Meckler fumbling the ball twice afterwards to allow Harper to score. Cool play… ridiculous scoring decision.

Giants at Phillies MLB BETTING PREDICTION

While Harrison will be making his major league debut tonight, Walker is 2-1 with a 4.07 ERA and 6.14 FIP over his last four starts, which spanned 24 1/3 innings. Walker will be facing a Giants offense that owns a wRC+ of just 74 over its last 30 days, whereas he’ll be backed by a Philadelphia lineup that has produced a 131 wRC+ over that same span. While I don’t love Walker, the Phillies’ bullpen has a collective ERA of 3.50 since August 1 and given the Giants’ struggles, I see Philly being the best bet tonight at Citizens Bank Park.

MLB BETTING PREDICTION: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES -142
