Rice Owls Game Notes
Luke McCaffrey (ankle) missed the last two games but HC Mike Bloomgren is very optimistic he could play Saturday, Steve Helwick of SB Nation reports. McCaffrey was playing well before an ankle injury sidelined him for the final two regular season games, but Bloomgren’s words makes his chances of playing in Rice’s bowl game sound promising. McCaffrey has managed two double-digit reception games this season as well as seven touchdowns.
Southern Miss Golden Eagles Game Notes
Trey Lowe completed 10 of 16 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown Saturday. The junior passer failed to hit 200 passing yards for the second consecutive contest. He threw a touchdown against the Golden Eagles, giving him three total for the season.
