Orioles’ Hess allows two runs in loss to Indians

David Hess gave up two runs through six innings and was charged with a loss to the Indians on Friday. He served up a two-run homer to Jose Ramirez in the first inning, then pitched quite well for several more frames. The Orioles’ offense failed to give him much in the way of run support and he took a loss despite a good outing. He struck out three batters, walked four and yielded five knocks total in the quality start. It’s been almost three months since he’s won a start — he falls to 2-7 with a 5.95 ERA and 1.51 WHIP in 14 games (12 starts). Fantasy owners are scraping the bottom of the barrel if they use Hess in their lineups.
