(TheSpread) – The 2014 NBA Finals matchup is set and it is a repeat of last year’s championship series. Here is a look at the odds to win this series.
The NBA Finals features the San Antonio Spurs taking on the Miami Heat. The Spurs have the home-court advantage in the series. Unlike most years, where the format has been 2-3-3, this year’s series is 2-2-1-1-1. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Spurs are the slight favorite, as they have odds of -120 to win the series, while the Heat have odds of +100 to prevail.
The Miami Heat have reached the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year and are looking for their third-straight NBA title. The Heat defeated Charlotte in the first round in four games before disposing of Brooklyn in five. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the second-seeded Heat beat the top-seeded Pacers in six games.
San Antonio is playing in the finals for the second straight season. San Antonio was the top seed in the West and beat Dallas in seven games before beating Portland in five games. The Western Conference Finals saw San Antonio beating Oklahoma City in six games.
Last year’s NBA Finals had the Heat beat the Spurs in seven games. San Antonio was all set to win the championship in six games, as it led by three in the final seconds, but Ray Allen hit a 3-pointer near the end of regulation to force OT, and Miami won from there and then followed it up with a win in Game 7.
