EDMONTON (The Spread) – The 2012 CFL Regular Season is under way and the action continues today when the Edmonton Eskimos host the Toronto Argonauts at 6:05PM ET.
Oddsmakers have installed the Argonauts as 1.5-point road favorites over the Eskimos, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48.5. (A wager on the over will cost –105 in juice while a wager on the under will cost –115 in juice.)
The Argonauts struggled out of the gates last season and never recovered. After beating Calgary 23-21 in Week 1, Toronto rattled off six-straight losses and wound up finishing 6-12 on the season. That was good for a last-place finish in the East Division.

Meanwhile, the Eskimos got off to a 5-0 start and despite losing two of their last three games, they finished 11-7 and qualified for the postseason. They beat the Stampeders 33-19 in the Division Semi-Finals but Edmonton was absolutely crushed by the B.C. Lions in the Division Finals, 40-23.
Edmonton won both of the meetings between these two teams last year, notching a 26-25 victory in Week 5 and 31-24 win in Week 17. That said, the Eskimos lost leading rushing Jerome Messam to the Miami Dolphins in the offseason so it’ll be interesting to see how new-look Edmonton fares tonight.
