Steelers vs. Browns Week 17 Odds
CLEVELAND, OH (The Spread) – The Steelers still have a shot to win the AFC North but they need to beat the Browns on Sunday and receive some help from Cincinnati.
PITTSBURGH: The Steelers didn’t even need quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) last Saturday to beat the hapless Rams in Pittsburgh. Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown in the win, while the defense pitched a shutout in a 27-0 victory. The win improved Pittsburgh’s record to 11-4 but the Steelers need to beat the Browns and have the Bengals upset the Ravens in order to clinch a first-round bye in the playoffs. That’s because Baltimore currently owns a head-to-head tiebreaker over Pittsburgh and if the Ravens win on Sunday, they’ll wrap up the AFC North.
CLEVELAND: A second-half comeback attempt foiled the Browns’ bid to upset the Ravens last Saturday in Baltimore, as Cleveland fell, 20-14. The loss was the Browns’ fifth in a row and it dropped their record to 4-11 overall. Seneca Wallace once again started in place of Colt McCoy (concussion) and threw for 147 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Peyton Hillis also rushed for 112 yards on 24 carries while rookie Greg Little caught four passes for 40 yards.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Steelers as 7-point favorites over the Browns, while the over/under total for Sunday’s game is currently sitting at 36 points. Pittsburgh enters the week with an 11-4 overall record and is 4-3 on the road this year, while Cleveland is 4-11 overall and 3-4 at home.
TRENDS: The Steelers are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight trips to Cleveland and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 divisional games. The Browns, meanwhile, are 5-1 against the number in their last six games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus the AFC.
