2011 NFL Week 16 on CBS: Browns vs. Ravens Odds & Spread

Browns vs. Ravens Week 16 Odds

BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – Caught in a battle with the Steelers in the AFC North, the Ravens can ill-afford to lose to the struggling Browns this weekend.

CLEVELAND: The Browns thought they had their three-game losing streak snapped in Arizona last Sunday when they built a 20-7 lead in the second half. But the Cardinals had other plans and scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and overtime to beat Cleveland, 20-17. The loss dropped the Browns’ record to 4-10 on the year but they did cover as 6-point underdogs and are now 5-7-2 against the spread this season. They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last five games despite going 1-4 straight up over that same span.

BALTIMORE: Ray Lewis and the Ravens picked a bad time to have another bye week. With first place in the AFC North and a home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs on the line, the Chargers crushed Baltimore 34-14 last Sunday night. That dropped the Ravens’ record to 10-4 on the year and it snapped their four-game winning streak. The Ravens have now failed to cover the past two weeks, although they’re still 7-6-1 against the spread overall this year. Seeing as how badly Cleveland’s offense has struggled this year, Baltimore’s usually stingy defense should have no problems rebounding.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Ravens as 13-point favorites over the Browns for Saturday’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 38.5 points. Cleveland enters the week with a 4-10 overall record and is 1-6 on the road this year while Baltimore is 10-4 overall and 7-0 at home.

TRENDS: The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Baltimore but the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall. The favorite is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings while the Browns are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against the Ravens. That said, the road team is 4-0 against the number in the last four meetings between these two teams.
