Texans vs. Bengals Free Pick
CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – Two teams with playoff aspirations will square off in Cincinnati today when the Bengals host the Texans at 1:00PM ET.
NFL Odds: ddsmakers have installed the Bengals as 3-point favorites over the Texans, while Sunday’s over/under total is currently 38.5 points. Houston enters the game with a 9-3 record and is 4-2 on the road this season, while Cincinnati is 7-5 overall and 3-2 at home.
Line Movement: Depending on the sports book, the Bengals opened as either a 1 or 3-point favorite against the Texans for today’s game. But now most books both offshore and in Vegas have Cincinnati at –3. The over/under total opened at 37.5 points and has gone up to 38 or 38.5 depending on the book.
Public Betting: Of the 15,000-plus wagers on today’s game, 61% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Texans. This information is subject to change leading up to kickoff, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date NFL public betting numbers.
NFL Week 14 Free Pick: Take Cincinnati. Houston has survived injuries all season but at some point not having guys like Andre Johnson, Mario Williams and Matt Schaub will catch up to the Texans. The Bengals have defended the run well on a consistent basis and if they can at least keep Arian Foster and Ben Tate from running amok, they should be able to pull ahead in the fourth quarter. T.J. Yates outperformed Matt Ryan in Houston’s 17-10 win over Atlanta last Sunday, but it’s important to note that a) Yates was playing in a comfortable environment at home and b) his biggest mistake (an interception returned for a touchdown that would have given the Falcons the lead in the second half) was wiped out because of a Dunta Robinson holding penalty. Look for his mistakes to haunt him this Sunday. According to latest NFL trends, the Texans are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games as a road underdog.
