2011 NFL Week 9 on CBS: Dolphins vs. Chiefs Point Spreads & Odds

Dolphins vs. Chiefs Week 9 Odds

(The Spread) – While the Dolphins will be searching for their first victory of 2011, the Chiefs look to stay red-hot.

MIAMI: Well, at least they didn’t quit. That’s about the only positive one can take out of the Dolphins’ 20-17 loss to the Giants last Sunday in East Rutherford. Despite their man internal conflicts, Miami gave New York all it could handle before squandering its second fourth-quarter lead in as many weeks. The Fins did cover, however, and are now 1-5-1 against the spread heading into Week 9. Maybe their first win will soon follow their first ATS cover. (Hey, all Miami can do is think positively, right?)

KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs’ 0-3 start is nothing but a distant memory following their current four-game winning streak. Their 23-20 victory over the Chargers on Monday night certainly wasn’t pretty, but pretty doesn’t matter at this point. It was almost unthinkable given how poorly Kansas City played at the beginning of the year, that Todd Haley’s Chiefs would be in a three-way tie for first place in the AFC West over a month ago. But they are, and now they have a golden opportunity to get to 5-3 on the year with a victory over winless Miami on Sunday.

ODDS: The Chiefs opened as a 5-point favorite over the Dolphins following their overtime win against the Chargers on Monday night, but the line has since dropped to Kansas City –4. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 39.5 points.

TRENDS: The favorite is 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams and the Chiefs are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. Kansas City is also 4-0 ATS in its last four games versus the AFC and 4-0 ATS in its last four games following an ATS win. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight versus the AFC.
