Royals 2011 MLB Season Odds
(The Spread) – The Kansas City Royals arguably have the best collection of young talent in the league right now. But wins will still be hard to come by in 2011.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Royals +10000 on the money line to win the 2011 World Series and +8000 to win the AL Central. The also have an over/under total of 68 for number of wins in 2011.
Offseason Additions: The Royals brought in pitchers Jeff Francis and Vin Mazzaro, outfielders Melky Cabrera, Jeff Francoeur and Lorenzo Cain, as well as shortstop Alcides Escobar. Cabrera, Francoeur and Escobar will all have starting roles for the Royals in 2011.
Offseason Losses: None was bigger than losing pitcher Zack Greinke, who was traded to the Brewers over the winter. Greinke struggled last year but won the Cy Young award in 2009. The club also parted ways with outfielder David DeJesus, shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt and pitcher Gil Meche.
Season Outlook: The Royals have done a great job setting themselves up to have future success but this is an ugly looking team right now. The entire team might as well be Billy Butler and Joakim Soria right now, although Kila Ka’aihue did hit well in the minors so the club has high hopes for him. Still, this team is a couple of years away from competing. You look at their starting lineup and rotation and they’re not going to keep many opposing managers up at night. There just isn’t enough to go on to compete with the likes of the White Sox, Twins and Tigers in the AL Central. Crazier things have happened, but it’s highly unlikely that the Royals win more than they lose in 2011.
