ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Texas first baseman Mark Teixeira left Wednesday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers in the fifth inning with a stiff neck.
Teixeira suffered a mild concussion Friday night against Seattle after he was hit below the left eye with an outfield throw while scoring.
The Rangers 2007 home run leader has played in 505 consecutive games – the second longest active streak in baseball.
Teixeira came into Wednesday’s game hitting .297 with 11 home runs and 36 RBIs.
