Twins vs. Yankees Game 3 Pick
The Yankees look to close out their best-of-five series with the Twins tonight when the two clubs meet in Game 3 of the ALDS. Read on to check out our free pick for tonight’s game.
Game tonight is set for 8:30PM ET on TBS. Let’s take a look at the latest odds before we make a pick on this pivotal matchup.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Yankees –176 on the money line against the Twins, who are +165. The over/under total for this game has been set at 9 runs.
The Pick:
The scene in Minnesota at the conclusion of Game 2 was pathetic. Some of the Twins players were hanging out at the top of the dugout steps watching the Yankees congratulate each other as if the series was over. It made you wonder whether or not they had enough left in them to fight back.
Minnesota is 1-4 in their last five games after scoring two runs or less in their previous outing. They’re also 1-5 in the last six as an underdog and 1-5 in their last six road games. Making matters worse, the Twinkies are 6-29 in their last 25 outings in New York and 18-56 in their last 74 games with the Yankees.
New York, meanwhile, is 5-1 in their last six games with Greg Gibson behind home plate and is 6-0 in Phil Hughes’ last six starts versus the American League Central.
My pick is the Yankees tonight and while I understand it’s tough to lay –176 on the money, think about a wager on the run line. Again, it appears as though New York drove a stake through Minnesota’s heart last game and they may not put up much of a fight this evening.
