SAN DIEGO (AP) -Right fielder Juan Encarnacion was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Encarnacion had not played for the Cardinals this year following offseason wrist surgery.
St. Louis optioned outfielder Skip Schumaker to Triple-A Memphis. Schumaker hit .233 with three RBIs in 43 at-bats.
