Men’s Slalom Odds
The final alpine skiing event of the 2010 Winter Olympics will be the Men’s Slalom, which takes place next Saturday.
According to vancouver2010.com, slalom features the shortest course and the quickest turns. As in the giant slalom, each skier makes two runs down two different courses on the same slope. Both runs take place on the same day. The times are added together and the fastest total time determines the winner.
Austrian Reinfried Herbst is favored to win the gold in this event.
Herbst has odds of 13/5 to win the gold medal in this event according to online sports book Sportsbook.com. Other short odds to win are Julien Lizeroux (5/1), Ivica Kostelic (9/1), and Benjamin Raich (9/1).
Herbst won the silver medal in slalom at the 2006 Olympics and he is a nine-time World Cup event winner in slalom, which two wins coming in January of this year.
