LeRoy's Money Talks Handicapping Tournament

16 handicappers shall participate in this 15 week Tournament, fashioned along the lines of the Stardust Invitational which ran for 11 years. However, unlike the Stardust Tournament, each of the 16 participants in the Money Talks contest has put up $ 5,000.oo for a total of $ 80,000.oo in the prize pool. LeRoys has added $ 20,000.oo to make the total prize pool $ 100,000.oo of which $ 80,000.oo will go to the ultimate winner and $ 20,000.oo will go to the runner up.

Each week two contestants are matched against each other in a head to head meeting with each handicapper making 7 selections against the LeRoys pointspread that exists shortly before air time. The 7 selections are rated, effectively, from 1 to 7 in that each contestant will risk a mythical 110 to win 100 on his weakest selection, increasing in 110/100 increments to the Best Bet which risks 770 to win 700.

The Pinnacle Pulse Vol. 52

All bettors want the quick, easy win, but any long-term success can be attributed to only one thing — hours of research and study. This poses a problem for weekend warriors who don’t have the time to dedicate 40+ hours per week analyzing lines and shopping for value. A potential solution to this predicament for recreational bettors, that offers a realistic chance for finding winners without quitting their day jobs, can be found at online sports betting forums.

One of the quickest ways to learn, without the time-consuming study, is to watch and converse with proven winning handicappers in these gambling discussion areas.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 Analyzed

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was rammed through Congress by the Republican leadership in the final minutes before the election period recess. According to Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D- NJ), no one on the Senate-House Conference Committee had even seen the final language of the bill. The Act is title VIII of a completely unrelated bill, the Safe Port Act, HR 4954, dealing with port security. It can be found on pages 213 -244 of the Conference Report: http://www.saveonlinegaming.com/hr49543.pdf. It is based on the Leach and Goodlatte bills, HR 4411 and HR 4777, but there are some important differences.

Tease Me Baby - How to Profit with NFL Teasers

Bettors love playing teasers and bookmakers love taking teaser bets, so are teasers for suckers or can a smart player actually formulate a positive expectancy by optimizing their wagering strategy?

The answer is both Yes and No depending on the approach you take. We often hear the phrase that teasers are sucker bets and that statement is definitely true for the average bettor who does not consider the numbers he is teasing, while professional bettors understand the concept of moving the spread around key numbers.

Home/Road Football Handicapping Print

Home/Road Football Handicapping

That offensive juggernaut, the Baltimore Ravens, were a 2-TD favorite last week over the Raiders. The Ravens have only been a double-digit favorite 8 times since 2000, but their record is 8-0 SU, 6-2 ATS in those games. No problem. The Ravens crushed the Raiders 28-6, covering with ease again.

Why? Home field is one key handicapping factor. Home field is very important in pro and college basketball, where almost all teams play significantly better at home. It can also be an important factor with some football teams. The Ravens happen to be one of those teams in recent years that easily play their best ball at home. In 2005, the Ravens were 6-2 SU, 5-3 ATS at home, but 0-8 SU, 2-6 ATS on the road. In fact, Baltimore is now 20-6 SU, 15-9-2 ATS its last 26 home games.
