The Chicago Bears hope to keep their slim playoff hopes alive in the NFC when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Solider Field in Week 14. Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Bears –6.5 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 40 total points. Key Trend: The Jaguars are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games while the over has covered in six of Chicago’s last seven games at home. Key Stat: The Bears have the advantage in both points for (23.4 to 20.1) and points against (22.3 to 22.5). Chicago also has the better running game (115.2 to 111.5) and the better run defense (88.8 to 115.0). Game Outlook: Both of these teams looked horrible last week but at least the Bears are still playing for something and have home field advantage. The Jaguars have also been awful on grass this year and is coming off a short week. The key to this game is that the Jags can’t stop the run defensively and the Bears have had success on the ground this year. Jacksonville’s offensive line has also been decimated by injuries and the Bears should be able to get pressure on David Garrard. It might not be pretty, but the Bears should cover.
