Team Pursuit Cycling Odds
LONDON, England (TheSpread) – The Team Pursuit event in cycling for the 2012 Olympics is a race between two teams essentially in the eyes of the oddsmakers.
According to oddsmakers, Australia and Great Britain have equal odds of 10/11 to win the gold medal this year. New Zealand has the next shortest odds at a distant 18/1.
Great Britain took the gold in this event at the 2008 Olympics and won silver in 2004. In the 2012 World Championships, Great Britain edged Australia for the victory by the slim margin of .106 seconds.
Australia placed fourth at the 2008 Olympics but won the gold in 2004. The Aussies narrowly lost the 2012 World Championships to Great Britain back in April but is capable of making up that margin without much trouble.
New Zealand won the bronze back at the 2008 Olympics. New Zealand placed third in this event at the World Championships back in April, finishing over three seconds behind Great Britain and Australia.
The 2012 Summer Olympics will take place from London, England from July 27 through August 12 of this summer. For the complete odds for which team will win the gold medal in the men’s team pursuit for cycling, see below.
