LONDON, England (TheSpread) – Team cycling is a big part of the 2012 Olympics. Here is a look at the odds to win gold in the team Sprint Track event.
For this event, only four countries have been listed with odds to win. According to oddsmakers, Germany is favored to win gold, as it has odds of +120. Other odds listed are France (+162), Great Britain (+500), and Australia (+650).
Germany was the bronze medal winner in team sprint at the 2008 Olympics. Germany did claim the gold in 2004 and is expected to have some of the top individual competitors at this Olympics.
France won the bronze for team sprint back in 2008 and in 2004. The French have been among the best for years, but been unable to break through to the top of the medal stand.
Great Britain is the defending Olympic gold medal winner in this event and they are the host country for this Olympics.
Australia has had a lot of success in track cycling in past Olympic games, but failed to reach the medal table for the team sprint event.
