U.S. vs. Japan Odds
CANADA (TheSpread) – The 2015 Women’s World Cup concludes tonight at 7PM ET when the United States and Japan meet in the championship game.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the United States is favored to win this match, as it has odds of -165 to prevail in regulation, while Japan has been given odds of +450 to win in regulation. The odds of the match going into extra time has been set at +275, while the over/under total is listed at 2 goals. These two will meet in the Women’s World Cup Final on Sunday at 7PM ET.
This is a rematch of the 2011 championship match in which Japan picked up a win over the United States on penalty kicks. The score was 2-2, but Japan had a 3-1 edge in the penalty shots.
Since the loss, the United States has been looking to the 2015 World Cup and winning that. The U.S. coming off a 2-0 win over Germany in the semifinals. In the World Cup, the United States has scored a total of nine goals while allowing just one. The U.S. hasn’t given up a goal since their first match with Australia.
Japan is coming off a 2-1 victory over England in the semifinals. That match went to extra time and the winning goal was actually and accidental own goal from England. Japan has now scored a total of nine goals in the World Cup while allowing a total of three.
