INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – Oriol Servia has never been much of a contender in the Indianapolis 500, but he finds himself in a good position for this year’s race.

According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.com, Servia has 10/1 odds to win this year’s Indianapolis 500.
Servia managed to land himself in Row 1 to start Sunday’s race as he will begin from the third position. 42 Indy 500 winners have come from Row 1 and 11 winners have come from the third starting position, including last year’s winner, Dario Franchitti.
Servia has driven in two Indy 500’s in his career, as he competed in the 2008 and 2009 race. He started 25th both times and finished 11th in 2008 and 26th in 2009.
This year, Servia has had a pretty consistent season, as he is third in the point standings. Servia has two top 5’s and four top 10’s in four IRL races. Servia is still looking to earn his first career IRL race.
The Indianapolis 500 will take place Sunday, May 29 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at Noon ET. The race will air on ABC.
