My Man Sam Kentucky Derby Odds
Emerging from the No. 6 post position on Saturday will be My Man Sam, who will compete in the Kentucky Derby as a long shot. Here’s a look at the colt’s betting odds.
The Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, My Man Sam is currently 25/1 to win the Kentucky Derby, giving him the same odds as Shagaf. Nyquist remains the favorite at 5/2 odds while Exaggerator is 7/1 and Mohaymen is 15/2.
A Snapshot: In just four career starts My Man Sam has one win, two second-place finishes and zero third-place showings. Owned by Sheep Pond Partners, Newport Stables and Jay Bligh, My May Sam’s pedigree is Trappe Shot – Lauren Byrd, by Arch. A closer in terms of running style, My Man Sam’s jockey for this weekend will be Irad Ortiz Jr.

BETTING OVERVIEW: With zero points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard entering the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes, My Man Sam finished as the runner-up to punch his ticket into Saturday’s race. Short on experience, My Man Sam did earn an eight-length win in January, which gave him a 108 Equibase Speed Figure. Fast, but again, inexperienced, My Man Sam is an intriguing sleeper.
