Will American Pharoah win Preakness?
PIMLICO, BALTIMORE (The Spread) – After claiming victory in the Kentucky Derby last weekend, will American Pharoah win the Preakness Stakes on May 16?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the odds are actually stuck against American Pharoah to win the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown. The odds that he’ll win the Preakness are -110, while the odds of him coming up short at Pimlico in a couple of weeks are -130. Granted, there’s not a huge discrepancy between those odds but it’s an interesting note nonetheless.
American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby with a strong finish after Dortmund set the pace early. He was a 5/2 favorite to win, followed by Dortmund, who finished third and was 3/1. Firing Line, meanwhile, placed second at Churchill Downs after entering the race as a 12/1 long shot.
The 2015 Preakness Stakes is set for May 16, 2015 from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. American Pharoah opened as the favorite to win the race at 7/5 odds.
