Defending Olympic silver medalists Andre Florschutz & Torsten Wustlich are favored to win the gold.

Florschutz & Wustlich have odds of 6/4 to win the gold medal in this event according to online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Patric Leitner & Alexander Resch (11/4), Andreas Linger & Wolfgang Linger (7/2), and Christian Oberstolz & Patrick Gruber (4/1).

The German team of Florschutz & Wustlich won a test event prior to the Olympics and were the 2006 Olympic silver medalists. This duo won the 2008 world championship as well as the 2005 and 2001 titles.

Leitner & Resch compete for Germany and were the 2002 gold medal winners. They have won four world titles, with the most recent coming in 2007.

Linger & Linger compete for Austria and won the gold medal in 2006. Since then they have won the 2010 European Championships.

Oberstolz & Gruber compete for Italy and they are the 2008 European Champions. They have yet to win an Olympic medal together.
