COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled goaltender Steve Mason from their American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse on Tuesday, also assigning goaltender Dan LaCosta to replace him with the Crunch.
The moves were made because goaltender Pascal Leclaire is still sidelined with a sprained ankle that may keep him out for at least another week.
The 20-year-old has gone 2-1-0 with a 1.63 goals-against average in three games with Syracuse this season. He was the Blue Jackets’ second pick and the 69th overall selection in the 2006 draft.
LaCosta saw action in just one Blue Jackets game this season.
