LOS ANGELES (AP) -The Los Angeles Kings acquired defenseman Sean O’Donnell from the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, receiving a conditional selection in the 2009 NHL draft in return.
The 36-year-old O’Donnell played for the Kings from 1994-2000. Heading into his 14th NHL season, he has appeared in a combined 932 games with Los Angeles, Anaheim, Phoenix, Boston, New Jersey and Minnesota.
He made his NHL debut with the Kings during the 1994-95 season and went on to play in 381 career games for them, totaling 12 goals, 59 assists and 799 penalty minutes. He also was in eight playoff games for Los Angeles, scoring two goals.
He spent two and a half seasons with the Ducks, and was a member of their 2007 Stanley Cup championship team.
O’Donnell played in all 82 regular season games last season, with two goals and seven assists. He added a goal and an assist while playing in six postseason contests.
