NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -The Nashville Predators signed center Rich Peverley to a two-year deal and goaltender Pekka Rinne to a one-year contract extension Friday.
The team said that Peverley will be paid $475,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the minor league level in the first year of the contract. In the second year, the 26-year-old will make $500,000.
Rinne’s extension will pay him $725,000 beginning in 2009-10.
Peverley played in a career-high 33 games for Nashville last season, including all six of the team’s playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings.
Rinne led the American Hockey League in wins at 36 with Milwaukee last season. The 25-year-old goalie has appeared in three career NHL games with Nashville since 2005.
