SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -Defenseman Rob Davison re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Monday, agreeing to a one-year contract.
Davison was a restricted free agent after playing in 22 games for San Jose last season. The hard-hitting defenseman has scored 14 points in 161 games over four seasons with the Sharks, who drafted him in 1998.
Unless San Jose moves to acquire another veteran defenseman, Davison will be in competition with Doug Murray during training camp following the departure of Scott Hannan, who signed with Colorado as a free agent.
