 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -The Nashville Predators re-signed forward Darcy Hordichuk and defenseman Kevin Klein to one-year deals Monday, and agreed with defenseman Greg Zanon on a two-year pact.
Zanon, 27, had career highs last season with three goals and five assists in 66 games, and he led the NHL in blocked shots with 189 and hits with 91. He will earn $700,000 next season and $750,000 in the 2008-09 campaign.
Hordichuk, 26, had 17 points and 253 penalty minutes in 127 games over the last two seasons. He will make $517,000 next season.
Klein, 22, played three games for the Predators last season and had his first career NHL goal with the Predators against Chicago on Jan. 26. He was ranked third-scoring defenseman of the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals with 20 points. He will get $500,000 in the NHL and $70,000 in the AHL.
Defenseman Robert Dietrich and forward Andreas Thuresson, both chosen in this year's draft, signed entry-level contracts.
Thuresson, 19, had 15 points in 49 games with Sweden's Malmo last season. The 6-1, 200-pound forward was the Predators' seventh pick, 144th overall in the fifth round.
Dietrich, 20, had 22 points in 52 games with Germany's Dusseldorf last season. The 5-10, 172-pound defenseman was picked 174th overall in the sixth round.
Both draftees got three-year deals that will pay $475,000 each next season, then $500,000 and $550,000 in the NHL. Thuresson will get $60,000 in the AHL throughout, while Dietrich will get $50,000 next season and $60,000 after.
