PITTSBURGH (AP) -The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Ruslan Fedotenko, who joined the team a year ago as a free agent.
The 30-year-old winger had 16 goals and 23 assists in 65 regular-season games, before scoring seven goals in 24 playoff games during the Penguins’ run to their third Stanley Cup championship.
Fedotenko has also played with Tampa Bay and Philadelphia since he debuted with the Flyers in 2000, a year after they signed him as an undrafted free agent.
Fedotenko is the first Ukrainian born player to win the Stanley Cup, accomplishing that first for Tampa Bay in 2004 when he scored two goals in the Lightning’s Game 7 win over Calgary in the finals.
