BOSTON (AP) -The owner of the Boston Bruins believes the NHL’s next Winter Classic will be played at Fenway Park.
Jeremy Jacobs said he thinks it’s the worst kept secret in Boston that the game on New Year’s Day will be played at Fenway. Previous reports have indicated that the home of the Boston Red Sox will be the likely site.
Jacobs said Wednesday that the NHL hasn’t confirmed the site of the game to him and that it’s up to the league to announce it. That announcement is expected in July.
In the other two outdoor Winter Classics, Pittsburgh played Buffalo at Ralph Wilson Stadium in 2008 and Detroit played Chicago at Wrigley Field earlier this year.
