BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Sabres center Chris Drury left Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals Saturday after being struck in the mouth by a shot with 10 minutes left in the third period.
Drury was standing in front of the Ottawa net while the Sabres had a two-man advantage when Tim Connolly let go a slap shot from the right point that hit Drury flush in the mouth, sending the co-captain to the ice with his mouth dripping blood.
Drury skated off the ice on his own while holding a towel to his mouth and went directly to the locker room.
